Use Hadoken to control the neutral game, but vary the speed and timing to prevent Zangief from timing a jump-in or a Drive Impact.
- 0
Maintain a mid-range distance where your standing medium kick can poke Zangief without leaving you vulnerable to his command grabs.
- 0
Keep Shoryuken ready at all times to punish Zangief's attempts to bypass your zoning with jumps or Knee Drops.
- 0
Utilize Denjin Charge to enhance your fireballs, as the multi-hit property makes it much harder for Zangief to armor through them with Siberian Express.
- 0
Be cautious with Drive Impact, as Zangief can easily counter it with his own or absorb the hit using his armored heavy punch.
- 0
Use your standing heavy punch as a long-range poke to check Zangief's forward movement, but be wary of his Tundra Storm counter.
- 0
If Zangief activates his Level 3 Super, prioritize jumping or back-dashing immediately, as the grab has immense range and cannot be blocked.
- 0
Focus on keeping Zangief out of the corner; if he traps you there, use Drive Reversal to reset the neutral and regain space.
