Prioritize using Shoryuken to swat Akuma out of the air, especially when he attempts to use Demon Flip or Zanku Hadoken to bypass your ground game.
- 0
Use Denjin Charge to strengthen your Hadoken, which can pierce through Akuma's standard projectiles and force him to change his approach.

Ryu's standing heavy punch is an excellent tool for punishing Akuma's whiffed normals or catching him trying to walk forward into throw range.
- 0
Be patient against Akuma's pressure; Ryu's Drive Reversal is vital for resetting the neutral when Akuma begins his relentless strike-throw mix-ups.
- 0
Use Solar Plexus Strike to close the distance and start pressure, as it can often beat Akuma's shorter-range pokes in the neutral.
- 0
Watch for Akuma's air fireball; a well-timed Drive Parry not only negates the chip damage but also helps Ryu maintain his Drive Gauge against Akuma's pressure.

Ryu's Shin Hashogeki is a powerful tool to punish Akuma's aggressive Drive Rush attempts or to end combos with significant damage.

Keep Akuma at the tip of your fireball range to minimize his ability to use his fast walk speed for throws while keeping your anti-air reactions sharp.
