Use Double Lariat to reliably knock Honda out of the air whenever he attempts a Sumo Smash.

Focus on landing Perfect Parries against Sumo Headbutt to negate the pushback and create an opening for a heavy punish.
- 0
Use standing medium punch to swat away Honda's attempts to close the distance with his slower normals.
- 0
Drive Impact can be used to catch Honda during the startup of a Headbutt, but avoid using it against Hundred Hand Slap due to its multi-hit nature.

If Honda becomes too reliant on Sumo Spirit-enhanced moves, look for a gap to interrupt with a quick light punch into Screw Piledriver.
- 0
Use your Level 2 Super, Cyclone Lariat, to pull Honda in if he tries to escape pressure by jumping or back-dashing near the corner.
- 0
Keep Honda's Drive Gauge low by forcing him to block heavy pokes like standing heavy kick, making his specials more dangerous for him to use.
