- 0
Maintain a mid-range distance where your standing heavy kicks can poke Zangief without putting you in range for a standing Spinning Piledriver.
- 0
Be extremely cautious with your kick-heavy offense, as Zangief's Tundra Storm can specifically counter many of your primary neutral tools.
- 0
Use your back-dash and mobile specials to escape the corner, as Zangief's pressure becomes significantly more dangerous when your movement is restricted.
- 0
Only attempt to use your healing Super Art when Zangief is knocked down or at a full-screen distance to avoid being punished by a Siberian Express.
- 0
Utilize your fast anti-air kicks to keep Zangief from jumping in, as he needs the jump-in to bypass your ground-based poke game.
- 0
Watch for Zangief's armor moves; use multi-hit strings or low kicks to break through his heavy punch armor and stop his momentum.
- 0
Punish whiffed command grabs with your most reliable combo starters, as Zangief remains vulnerable for a significant duration after a missed grab.
- 0
Use Drive Impact sparingly, as Zangief can easily counter it with his own armor or a well-timed command grab if he predicts the activation.
